‘LOCUS’ has fully established itself as the baby-print of FUSE LDN and become a staple for emerging artists that cut about the lofty tilt of contemporary tech-house. New-era pioneers including Chris Stussy, Toman, Rossi, Lauren Lo Sung and Ray Mono paved the foundations of the labels direction, and their VA series has opened up a new block for transpiring talents like Nolga, Ben Jones, LaRosa and Julian Anthony to unfold.

The third edition of their VA series serves-up a fresh five-fold of artists all making their debut on the label. Leeds man Mehlor skits into his darker sound with a techy two-footed tackle, whilst Captea boss Jamahr, Dutch talent Project 89, and Italian pairing Manuel De Lorenzi & Giacomo Silvestri all pattern sun-soaked original anthems of their own ready for the terraces of 2023.

Jamahr opens the A-side with a dusky peak-time chugger called ‘Night Tales’. It encapsulates the tenacious end-game atmosphere and exudes a bass that feels like a warm and warping bear hug. A chunky, room-filler that’s built with sharp drum-play and hypnotic voices to twist this one up into a heightened mazy ecastacy. Mehlor follows with ‘BSOD’ and cooks up a weird and wicked worm-hole of techy bleepz and trippy bounce. His signature skippy drums and daring bass create the fabric of this one amongst some wonky noises and and an eering atmosphere to make it a gritty mid-set weapon to get the d-floor feeling spooky.

Project 89 flips the record back into sunnier trajectories with his sun-drenched rocket ‘What’s Going On’. It’s pure smiles on faces, primed and prep for the peak-time as P89 cooks up a hazily groovy bassline and weaves it with magical melodies and tantalising pads. Manuel De Lorenzi and Giacomo Silvestri’ transport us into a tropical pleasure-zone for the EP closer with ‘Sit Down’: and produce a luscious juiced-up roller that casts away any shadows and has full groove building intentions in mind.
