PREMIERE: A1 – Kepler – Enter [BQD049]

Kepler make’s a timely return to Dana Ruh’s legendary Brouqade Recs with three fully fuelled warpers. The Leeds man debuted on the label at the back end of last year, sharing both sides of a plate with Dana herself for a spacey split EP. ‘Cycles’ (BQD049) provides the orbital goods from a producer that’s fully locked in with his sound and always pushing his limits. A cosmic three-tracker of upbeat, high-spirited tech-house, that promises peak-time fusion but is also bursting in outer-worldly edge and introspective essence.

A1 ‘Enter’ navigates a path of soul-searching and enlightment, in the form of this a proper end-set weapon. A slick, cruisy intro casts a breezy spell in it’s opening act, with glowing pads and flickering notes lighting up the scene. The chugging bassline works it’s way in, ready to set off like a rocket and increases the energy levels immediately with a spiritual menace between its teeth. Kepler then injects some absolutely magical high-end play into the mix by adding some beautifully whirling synths and almost holy sounding pads to fully enhance the enchanted emotion.

Onto the flip, EP titled ‘Cycles’ (B1) diverts into loftier territory and acts as a perfect mid-set groover, acting to lower the intensity and keep the focus on building the groove. The whole vibe of the track bubbles like a floating cloud. Pumped with a serenely encapsulating bassline and injected with some lovely pulsing synths, fizzling between the lines and shooting through the top-end. Both immersive and introspective, ‘Cycles’ blasts you into the clouds for a boogie in the stratosphere for a moment of calm and contemplation whilst still keeping the energy levels rolling.

Still riding high, ‘Event Horizon’ (B2) brings the vision back into perspective for a burning climax to the EP. Kepler packs the track with groove in abundance. it’s deep, rolling bassline will spark the dance-floor into life, and like it’s B1 predessecer, has a sweet, etherealism about its aura. Peak-time, but providing a spiritual work-out for dreamers thanks to a splash of mythical synth-work upon a backdrop of some illusively lucid pads.
