Adult Sonics is a fresh collaberative project between Greek artists BODJ and Roksi. They’ve joined forces once again to smash out a bouncy new EP under their hybrid alias and it’s the first release from the pair under an independent entity. LOCUS fans will be familiar with BODJ as he recently featured inside their second LOCUSTRAX VA, following on from that his ‘Inner Cosmos’ EP also with Tessellate went down an absolute treat with the ears last year. Roksi is still under-the-radar in terms of a back catalogue, but his production talent is clear, it’s unmistakable that that these two as a collective are on the cusp of something fruitful.

The ‘Ultra Mega Sonic’ EP blasts out a brazy 3-tracker that presents a complete switch-up from their previous minimal style that’s both club-ready and has peak-time in mind. This EP promises to take you on a roller-coaster of juiced-up house music: expect strong basslines and tightly packed grooves that are jammed with acid tinges, high-speed swing and electrifying synths

01 ‘G-Disko’ kicks off with a moody chugger that carries a sophisticated energy but is fully aware of how to build an atmosphere and groove. The smoky bassline singes like a slow burning ember and builds rousingly as AS add blazing synths and a rugged acid-line into the mix to make this one a solid early-set weapon.

02 ‘Cheap Thrills’ take’s it up a notch for a feisty affair that’s guaranteed to ignite the dance-floor into a frenzy. It’s a fully infectious slice of upbeat tech-house that ascends into play as AS pack this anthem with the funkiest of soaring basslines. Revving up the momentum to the absolute max with perfectly executed drum-play, ceiling cutting hats and cow-bell percusion that it’s up their with the sickest usages of it we’ve ever heard.

Last up is ‘Adult Sonics Theme’ and it’s got clear intentions to end the package with a magical climax. ATS is a pure final blast of summer-infused synergy, a feel-good rocket that will get hands in the air and raise the spiritual senses of the punters. Layers of gleaming synths and transcendent pads play in duality with the bubbling yet darting bassline to propel this one into memorable affection and completes this wicked trio of tunes.
