The forth release for Epice Magique produces four cutting-edge weapons from Mennie. Born last year inside the quarentine period; the ‘Little Brother’ imprint to La Vie En Rose Records brings a fresh focus on the dubby, hypnotic aspects of house music. Their next instalment, comes from a DJ who refuses to stand still and keeps on shifting through the gears. Fresh off his killer ‘Disco Pressure’ EP on Infuse, Mennie is no stranger to the game. A highly skilled producer with previous releases on Moscow, Defected, Rawax and Desolat just to name a few! Prolific and consistent, Mennie is easily one of the leading Italian players in minimal, techy house music. An analogue head in the lab, he is constantly evolving his forward-thinking, modular sound. But also, possessing the experience to bring some oldskool elements to his productions.

The ‘Quickdance’ EP lands on Beatport and it was seriously hard to choose between our favourite of the 4 tracks. Each one has it’s own edge and projects a unique sound. ‘Dusk’ kicks off in style. A spacey, energetic cut that will send the dance-floor into a frenzy. Powered by skippy percussion and a strong bassline but painted with some atmospheric synths and chords to make it one to remember. Onto ‘Quickdance’, meticulous in it’s approach; it storms into action with a tough presence and inyaface’ attitude. A stompy house track that’s Jam packed with glitchy, modular percussion and robotic sounds. ‘Acid Pleasure’ tones things down a level but still hits hard. Mennie ensures that our main focus is on the drums; but there’s a slick, acid-line rumbling away in the backdrop. ‘Orbitality’ closes the EP with a spacey rocket. Throbbing, analogue frequencies flicker away with some choir esque tones in the top end of the bassline; before chaos erupts in the second half.
