Nuances De Nuit make it six with the latest instalment of their Various Artists series. Each EP keeps coming thick and fast and it’s not hard to see why, with all their previous 5 releases selling out in quick succession. A testament to the London based label’s founder T. Jacques, who clearly has an eye for upcoming talent. Rubbing shoulders himself with the likes of Dansu Discs, Subsequent and Housepuff. Like the old tale from Forest Gump goes, ‘you never know what you’re gunna get’ with a Nuances De Nuit release. Channelling all ends of the house, electro and breaks underground spectrum. One thing is for sure, every track is a masterclass in bleeps and bloops. Energetic, clinical and interesting. Tracks designed for kick-starting a set, dance-floor prawling in peak time moments and closing things off with some memorable mood moments.

First up with the beats for NUIT006 is Nothing But Nice co-founder, James Andrew. Who stormed onto the scene with his crazy ‘Thinking Backwards EP’ on NMN. Following it up with a feature on Voigtmann’s ‘Subsequent’ VA alongside T. Jacques. Kick-starting the EP with the 130+ bpm bomb, ‘Reality Call’ (A1) is packed with hip-shaking energy and analogue grooves. Next up on the case is Nathan Pinder, who also arrives on the scene with dance-floor heater, Stutta (A2). Another fist-pumping injection of up-tempo house music that boasts some plucky organ synth-lines and simmering percussion. A solid selection to raise the energy levels.

On the flip-side we premiere ‘Big Trouble (B1) from The Trip. The Tessellate founder is on his own musical venture with the label and pushing a similar ilk of forward-thinking music. It’s no surprise really that he finds himself here. His contribution to the EP is a memorable one and it’s another peak-time weapon. Dominated by it’s rolling bassline and a plethora of whirling high-end tones, synths and frequencies. Tip Top closes the EP with his stripped back cut, ‘Control Alt Defeat (B2). A down-tempo fusing of breakzy, marching beats and low swung soundscapes.
