The seductive intricacy of Christopher Ledgers music has put him at the frontal scope of the artistic side of intimate club music. His creative mind has no bounds and he possesses an impressive diversity when it come’s to experimentation as an artist. Be it dubbed out electronic music or stripping it back to conduct melancholic ambient-focussed sets, he displays a high level of emotional intelligence when it comes to understanding sound design, subtle details and how the minds inner endorphins react to music. His latest work drops with the Swiss heads at ‘Adam’s Bite’, a contemporary label and art-space for producers to captivate and be creative. ADAM007 serves up 6 highly refined original tracks from the Rome born, Berlin based artist, Ledger has his sights firmly on the smoky after-hours with this EP and it’s arguably his most energy-infusing piece of work to date.

‘Interchange’ is made up of two fabrics inside the EP with the masterfully groovy organ mix on A1 and a stripped back version being utilised as a digital bonus. The A1 is an evoking house juggernaut, initially the bassline gets deep down and defected but switches up with a totally infectious organ-line that hits all the right spots. Reminiscent of that classic Dusky sound that swept the UK back in the early 2010’s. If it was up to us you’d be hearing this on the waves of every radio outlet up and down the country, but we’ll just keep it our little secret for now.

‘Swap Function’ (A2) carries the flame of it’s predessecer and keeps the energy levels high with a true summer weapon. Ledgers drums are totally exquisite and unique, they garner the shuffly bite of the breaks from the halcyon rave era but simultaneously empower a skippy deftness, it’s impossible not to move. The funk is heightened in the build-up with encircling swirly synths and pads before switching into sneaky yet punchy melody in the main bassline to really maximise the groove.

‘Anticipation’ (B1) transports the EP into moodier territory with a dark italo sounding creeper. This is where Ledger’s intelligence and appreciation for the progressive element of club music really shine’s through, he can do the peak-time anthems but he can also keep the dance-floor guessing with a moment of suspense. The bass growls, reverberates and bellows below the surface like it wants to be heard as a cluster of mysterious noises and illusory tones amplify the eerie atmosphere to strong effect.

Get wrapped up in something warm because the B2 is ice-cold and another perfectly executed piece of thought-inducing melodic downtempo music. The air is crisp and captivating, look up to the stars and you’ll see shards of lucid synths and glowing tones glide through the sky alongside the adeptly fluctuating bass melody. The ghostly, hushing sounding voice is a beautiful addition to the mix, it feels like the wind brushing against your face and truly enhances the euphoric nature of this stunning dream-scape.
