Inter Records return to business in scintillating style, with four pulsing cuts from Coral O’Connor. Massachusetts born but residing in NYC; he’s a serious talent, and his unique grooves are injected with style and substance. He broke onto the scene two years back; with his High Fashion EP dropping on the mighty PIV, and received some heavyweight support. EP’s and remixes followed for Floorpiece and Rendr. Plus, most notably landing a killer outing on DJ Steaw’s ‘House Puff’ label with his fiery Studio 42 EP.

Now he brings his infectious rhythms to Inter Records; for a timely connection with label boss and fellow space-explorer, Parsec. His latest creation, the ‘In Situ EP’ form’s with four spacey original mixes. Each with their own distinctive style, and sketched for all moods and moments. Argentine wizard, Prodot takes control of the remix of final track ‘Waiting For Nothing’, and let’s just say, you’re in for treat.

Coral teased a few of these tracks inside his artist-showcase mix for us back in 2020, and now we finally get to enjoy them in their purest form. We have the pleasure of featuring lead track ‘In Situ’, for our main feature. A no-nonsense, uplifting stomper that will raise the spirits. Piercing hats provide some sharp-edge percussion and sit perfectly above the strong bassline. Coral expertly uses trippy vox and jolting synth stabs to act like ‘breaks’ between the beats, creating an impeccable groove in the process. ‘Neutral’ follows, and know’s it’s weight. A cunning, wobbler of a track that strut’s with attitude. Dominated initially by some devious drum-play and it’s gnarling bass; it progresses into familiar subtle frequencies, and ends on a high.

We delve into the minimal aspects of Coral’s production with ‘Unwind’, as it provides a deeper notion for the EP. A dreamy cut, that amplifies some stunning pad work and chords. Ensuring that full focus and attention is applied to the ambience and finer details of the music. Especially in the extended break-down, where the atmosphere builds beautifully and creates some reflective feelings. The last of the four original mixes; but by no means least, is ‘Waiting For Nothing’. Prodot selects this track to remix and it’s not hard to see why. A trance-inducing slice of house music, that’s clearly designed for the curtain closing moments of a set. Tranquil resonance vibrates throughout the track, with a plethora of transcendent melodies flickering in the distance. Underneath, the smooth, enrapturing bassline sustains dance-floor activity, and will keep you moving long into the night.

Lastly, Prodot take’s centre stage with his mesmerising refix of ‘Waiting For Nothing’. A sophisticated producer who has a flawless ear for complex rhythms. Prodot produces the magic once again on this one, effortlessly combining minimal frequencies with tight, intricate grooves. Providing his own hypnotic melody that bounces alongside some astral tones above the pouncing bass stabs. A truly stunning remix that is sure to grab some recognition.
