Contact: detectionaudio@gmail.com
Many years spent in the lab honing his craft, Italian/Swiss producer Matthew Dexter is ready to take centre stage. The formidable EYA Records take a chance on his first productions and they arrive in style, with 4 esoteric warpers ready to be amplified on all major wax outlets. Created by London based artist, Jos; the label remains at the fore-front for pushing adventurous, forward-thinking electronic music. Pushing the sounds of daring, creative minds such as Kepler, AC130, ZOTS and EDMX in recent times. Setting out a blueprint for a very productive 2021. The ‘Advanced Electronic Systems’ EP is ready to be launched and there will be limited copies so make sure you grab while it’s available to pre-order.
A1 – A.E.S springs into action with a serious but playful vibe. Marching drums provide a direct approach and the culmination of jolting synths interject throughout the bassline. Our premiere, A2 ‘Barlow’s Groove’ resonates on a lower level. A mysterious and eerie track that still cuts with a fine edge; powered with a strong low-end rhythm. Simmering hats provide a 2-stepping energy and the astronaut communication vox truly intensifies the space-adventure atmosphere
A real strong-point of the EP is how Dexter masterfully creates a delicacy with his percussion, that allows the synths to breathe life into the tracks; whilst still possessing a solid energy. On the flip side, B1 ‘Desolation of kind’ occupies a similar vibe that has a gallow of deep textures and more mystifying rhythms. The final curtain closer, entitled ‘Gene’s paranoia’ (B2) feels like an exit from the wormhole of sound and radiates a positive, nostalgic nature. Expertly layered with groove and alluring synthy melodies. A perfect selection to end any set.
