Colombian label: The Volcaic Contiuum, strike with their 9th instalment and they mean business with this one. Bringing the heat with 6 brand new ravey cuts, created for maximum dance-floor effect. Once again; fusing all spectrums of the underground sound and ramping up the energy levels to bridge the gap between techno, electro and breaks. It’s another serious injection of style from the mysterious collective and we’re predicting big things for them.

The EP starts off with a booter. ‘Breakbeat Academy’, a tricky electro number that introduces itself with sharp breaks. It doesn’t take long for the gully, acid-infused bassline to dominate the track, as it marches on with a fierce attitude. ‘Retro Slap’ guides us through orbit with a bolt of techno; that’s packed with rumbling, analogue noises and sonic tones. ‘False Memory Syndrome’ provides a cool off period for the continuum, but conjures up another techno beam. This time, with an increased progressive and melodic element; that allows the spacey synths and atmosphere to take over.

No time to waste as we lurk back into the merky gallows with ‘Diffusion’. A prime-time bomb, that pays homage to the 90’s halcyon days of rave music. Maxing out with a black-hole of low-end and Prodigy esque break-beats. ‘Archivos’ levels-out with downtempo vibrations and creates a true hands in the air moment inside the breakdown. Concluding the EP, ‘499191’ storms onto the scene with a thunderous italo house prowler that struts with a vengeance.
