PREMIERE: Steve Hammer – Zero Phase (Epice Magique)

White Isle legend Terence :Terry: has been busy throughout lock-down applying the foundations of a new imprint. ‘Epic Magique’ was born inside the quarantine and the sister-label to La Vie En Rose has intentions of projecting a series of more dubby, hypnotic cuts. They kicked things off in style with a pulsating EP from Lacuna founders PSTW and rising UK talent, Chris Whittacker. Garnering support from the likes of Rich Nxt, Archie Hamilton and the Willers Brothers; the EP went down a storm and nestled in nicely inside the Top 100 of the Minimal/Deep Tech Beatport charts. Venice based prodigy Steve Hammer takes shape for Episode 2 and our premiere of the mesmeric A-side ‘Zero Phase’ is today’s feature.

002 is dedicated to a shell of the 90’s and don’s its cap to the detroit house and techno influences that clearly inspired Steve’s career. ‘Zero Phase’ knows it’s weight and is a sharp injection of intergalactic techno that sets the tone for the rest of the EP. Sharp acid lines are encapsulated inside an atmospheric continuum with fierce 909 snares, hypnotising pads and mesmeric synth notes that glide through the track like shooting stars.
