PREMIERE: Mehlor – Nina [Moan]

Deep tech titans Moan keep the beats fusing through the lockdown and spearhead their latest EP with 2 electric warpers from UK prodigy; Mehlor alongside a remix from PIV star DeMarzo. The infamous Italian label are a dominant main-stay force in the Beatport charts and are a certified go-to’ for chugging, techy weapons with full dance-floor impact. Recently, MOAN have broadened their spectrum into deeper territories: recruiting the likes of DJOKO, Ray Mono and the The Willers Brothers to the fold with Mehlor next in line to deliver the latest injection of funky groovers. Fully establishing himself as a respected artist in the minimal game, Mehlor has set his sights on the top. Releasing with the likes of hedZup, Elrow and remixing for Do Not Sleep most recently. Clear intentions of a producer with full confidence in his own ability and a big vision.

MOAN137 kicks things off with ‘Avalon’. A 130 bolt of energy. Mehlor expertly laces a dubby groove with melodic synth stabs that shoot like lightning and glitchy effects fizzing away on top of the bassline. DeMarzo steps up on the remix for Avalon and replicates the high octane, vibrant notions. The in-demand wizard re-works the original with wonky acid hits and enhances the feeling with gleaming notes that shine through the beat like they come from the gods. His signature drums take hold of the beat and are packed with swing and shuffly energy that will get all your pulses vibrating. Mehlor rounds off the EP with ‘Nina’. A mid-tempo worm-hole of groove that plays with layer upon layer of whirling pads and whimsical rhythms. His attention to detail on creating a bouncing, fluctuating funk is un-paralled and you will definitely get lost in the hypnotic transience of the breakdown.
