Episode 32 from the La Vie En Rose catalogue spurs a timely collaboration between New York spawned DJ’s J Gabriel and Chuffy Buffy. Gaining traction on the global scale with their intricate yet dexterous productions. Fusing inspirations between classic house and techy, minimal frequencies. Support has been coming in from some major-players in the scene with Mike Shannon, Andrey Pushkarev, Nikita, Joyce Muniz, Mr C, Damian Lazarus, Steve 0’Sulivan, Akufen, Chez Damier all spinning their records. They make themselves at home on the legendary Terence :Terry:’s cult label with their ‘I’m Not Me’ EP. Ready to drop 2 killer house cuts that showcase their unique sound. La Vie get creative on the remixes and feature a pulsing take on ‘I’m Not Me’ from TT himself. Two mesmeric interpretations of ‘Afinite Tanze’ from talented Romanian DJ; Lizz. Alongside a special re-work of ‘Afinite Tanze’ from Brooklyn based DJ: Nico Laa and the main-man J Gabriel.

Drawing upon psychedelic and funky influences the EP starts with twisted lead track ‘I’m Not Me’. A set starter and physical cut, with marching drums and a tough groove; peppered with throbbing bass hits and some mechanical riffs . Terence :Terry: switches up ‘I’m Not Me’ and explores a deeper notion, with a clear; hypnotic bassline and tantalisingly squelchy synths in the top end. The second original mix, ‘Afinite Tanse’ is a minimal but chugging house cut that occupies a mysterious flex and has clear intentions to create trance-inducing reflexes on the dance-floor. Lizz cools thing’s down with two dreamy remixes of ‘Afinite Tanse’. The first, projecting some blissful chords and hitting like a cool breeze on the terrace; before applying some techier percussion to her second variation. A true masterclass in rhythm. J Gabriel teams up with Nico Laa for one last venture to provide another re-work of ‘Afinite Tanse’, and delivers once again. Metallic, shuffly drums are met with a smooth bassline and flute-esque synths that take us on a nostalgic journey home.
