PREMIERE: Incus – Head In The Clouds (Chris Gialanze Remix) [Radar]
Our East Midlands compatriots at Radar continue to fly the flag for Nottingham’s rising minimal movement and they flex their muscles once again with 3 brand new cuts from Incus. London hotshot Chris Gialanze jumps on the buttons for the remix. Radar keep raising their game and their forth official release looks set to further solidify their status as one of the go-to imprints for showcasing the best forthcoming talent that the UK’s diverse, underground scene has to offer. Incus has been bubbling over for a minute and keeps the rollers coming after releases this year with ‘Samani’ and Ki Creighton’s mighty ‘Under No Illusion’. His fresh creations encapsulate the deeper vibrations of the Radar sound and we’re sure you are going to like this one.
Incus introduces the EP in stylish fashion with ‘The Future’. A hypnotic 2-stepping space adventure that will explore all areas of the dancefloor. Astral notes and ethereal pads fluctuate off the piercing bassline and the breakdown creates a serious hands in the air moment for the punters. ‘Under The Radar’ goes one deeper from the highs of it’s predecessor and applies a focus on merky low end frequencies straight from the gallows. ‘Head In The Clouds’ is another bomb from the talented UK producer. A close to 9 minute dream sequence that’s dominated by groove. The pulsing bass is compromised by glitchy effects, distorted rhythms and searing synths that take thing’s to another dimension. Fresh off his appearance on James Dexter’s ‘Inermu’ imprint, Chris Gialanze takes on ‘Head In The Clouds’ and gives it a minimal makeover with his signature deep grooves and swinging b-lines.
