London hustlers Dansu Discs engage their next instalment with 3 heavy-hitters from Bailey Ibbs. Reinforced with 3 cold remixes and unique twists of A1 original track ‘Gurl’ from AK Sports, Groovy D and Denham Audio. The Dansu crew are bang in-form and projecting a serious identity with a wide spectrum of unique flavours signed to the label in recent weeks. Flying the flag for the UK with a scintillating catalogue of breaks, jungle, house and UKG (Both oldskool and new!). Juno recently named them label of the month and it’s not hard to see why, rapidly becoming an essential piece in the jigsaw of the UK’s underground revival.

Bailey Ibbs has been on the UKG circuit for a minute and the Night Service head-honcho is a dead-cert one to watch. His productions have started to ignite and gain traction with releases on the likes of Dimsum, ME1 and Articulate Sounds. DSDO23 is a big statement and provides a serious marker for the rising DJ with his first release on wax and it’s certainly the first of many.

The EP springs into life with A1 – Gurl. A skippy UKG number designed for smokey clubs with 2-steppin drums and mazy synths. A2 – We Run explodes into action with a breakzy cut that up’s the tempo with piercing reeses and slick bass stabs. Bailey then expertly bridges the gap between breakbeat and UKG on A3 – What’s My Chance? Paying homage to 90’s rave culture with with a serious breakbeat backdrop and classic organ synth work. Groovy D takes on Gurl and applies a tuff oldskool garage bassline that erupts with energy and attitude. Denham Audio paint a strong atmospheric introduction and soundscape into their remix before delving into a killer jungle bassline that will tear-up the dance-floor. Gurl gets one last blitz and AK Sports provides a belter techno interpretation to round off the EP with radiating hats and a wicked acid-line that takes it to the next dimension.
