Contact: detectionaudio@gmail.com
Witty Tunes team up with UK starlet Avesie once again after the previous success of his massive ‘Get Static’ EP with Cadence and remix for Dubclap’s ‘Beat N’ Box’ EP. Avesie takes full control of this release and the package takes shape with a weighty original mix: ‘Soho’, a twisted ‘Shut Up’ edit from its creator and a tough remix from Yungness & Jaminn. The Marseille hustlers continue to make waves themselves after a succession of gritty releases with Desolat, CUFF and Too Many Rules.
Pre-lockdown, Avesie was making noise after making an appearance on Idris Elba’s ‘7 Wallace’ debut VA, he then followed it up with a knock-out remix for Hot Since 82’s ‘Knee Deep In Sound’ imprint; rubbing shoulders with the man himself on tour. Further outings on New Violence and CR2 have fully cemented him as one to watch and he will only have eye’s on the future when we can return to the clubs. His distinctive twist on tech house is packed with power and attitude. When you hear an Avesie track you know it’s one of his and it’s a unique speciality that sets him apart from the rest.
‘Soho’ typifies Avesie’s energy laden sound. Make no mistake his dynamic beats are always occupied by killer rhythms and that’s definitely the case here. Shelling down a no-nonsense, clear focus on fierce percussion and ensuring the groove makes up the fabric of the record. A certified mid-set weapon! He amplifies the mood on the ‘Shut Up’ edit with warehouse vibrations. Maintaining the flow of the original but applying viperous bass stabs and attacking percussion to truly create lift-off. Yungness and Jaminn take on Soho and take us into a swirling bass vortex with trippy effects and rigid tech house beats that will take no prisoners.
