‘If you like your headzy’ electro-breaks and techno then we have the EP for you. It’s from rising badman RNBWS and he has conjured up a wicked hybrid-fusing of weighty sounds for the debut release from Linale Recs. ‘Amnesia Scale’ is prepped to take you down a tainted trip through mechanical, bass-heavy lows and blood-pulsing peaks via a futuristic sound-scape. So get strapped in for this one.

‘Amnesia Scale’ (A1) is acerbic destruction. The strong acid-line stamps its authority and stabs like a sour dagger being waved by it’s mad owner. Ruff snares make up the fabric of the drum-play and almost have a marching tendency. It’s got that stomper, mid-set energy when the vibe starts to raise and the tribe let-loose. Next up is the ‘Transparent Sound Remix’ of Amnesia Scale on (A2). It’s misty and on the brink. The breaks are sooty, but hard-edged and snap with a cut-throat jab. Fluctuating on top is a grime-esque bassline that chugs away like a 4 litre diesel energy, with a vortex of trippy sounds coursing through the mix. You can cut the hazy air with a knife.

‘Slip Thang (B1) is take-off for the EP. One of those tracks where
you know something un-worldly is coming in the first few moments. It’s a lightning bolt of adrenaline, good feeling and eclectic power; gasping to be utilised in the peak-time territories when the d-floor is pumping. The kind of high-octane bouncer that has roof-tearing capabilities and provides a memorable climax for the EP. Roaring energy ignites the bassline and will shift you through every gear. Hats touch the sky with every beat, low-freq stabs cut through like a sword and shards of acidic sounds interject to maximise the spaces.

Second up on the B-side is ‘Overtimes’ (B2). Bussing with an aggressive breaks nature, it grabs you by the scruff of the neck and ensures you’re paying attention. This one embarks on a darker, industrial level. Inside, there’s bass that gnarls like a snarling blood hound, tuff breaks that forge a strong composite and more acidic stabs to enhance the warehouse energy. A factory of gloomy atmosphere for the raverz.

The EP closes in dark, mysterious style with ‘Rat Of Zero Gravity’ on B3. A winding aftermath of what’s come before and the chance to take it all in. The engines of the ship are still buzzing and what remains of the burning fuel oozes out of the system. In the distance, almost blinded by the lights, they emerge from the shadows and come closer with each passing second.
