NYC clan HOMAGE bump their twenty-first release with a special delivery from across the globe and present a serious 7-tracker from Sydney based ‘Half Cut’. He’s pretty fresh on the scene but his tunes have already gauged support from Gene On Earth, Youandewan, Cromby and Craig Richards; so it really goes without saying that this geeza is possessing a skip full of talent. The ‘Here In Full’ EP is oozing in influences by a multitude of mixed genre’s from the 90’s but there’s definitely a fresh and forward thinking splash on these beats. We get a full taste of his flexibility with every track in this package and trust us when we say there’s weapon’s a plenty’ with lots of twists and turns. Expect squelchy acid-house tear-outs, steppy bass-heavy bombs and scorching groovers with maximum dance-ability’.

‘Player’ kicks off the EP with a shifty Detroit purrer. Strutting through the intro with a weighty bass and marching snares, building tension right up until the first B-line. A melee of futuristic yet old-skool sounds give it that big ‘Welcome To The Show’ vibe and Italo-esque attitude, it’s definitive bad-boi business in the summer-sun with the hood down. ‘Floor Five’ reverts into classic house territory. Rocking an infectious M1 and sax melodies, it’s got all the ingredients of a solid feel-good anthem and promises to go down very sweetly in the summer sun.

Half-Cut can switch it up at any given moment and it’s something that make’s this EP so enticing. ‘Free’ lashes out with the slickest cut so far. A tuff and techy, freaky weapon that unleashes a wicked groove upon it’s thick and formidable acid bass. Pure bassline fun inside the peak-time territories. ‘Noise’ growls and grits it’s teeth with purpose. Half-Cut is definitely adept when it come’s to creating menacing basslines. They thump but also ensure there’s plenty of well-placed snares and intricately shuffly little drums to give it maximum groove. Tech-house but with a much sharper tempo, menace and funk.

Potency Boss Cromby take’s control of ‘Noise’ and shifts it into higher BPM trajectories with a full-throttle remix. Usually known for his electro-infused techno sound he opts on this occasion to pattern a high-tempo housey flava that’s reminiscent of a typical Youandewan rocket. Simple but slick, the Irish Born Berlin star plugs plenty if energy inside this one and pumps out a deft bassline with skippy drums, slick acid stabs and a driving yet elevating melody to send it into orbit.

‘Energy’ is a sick cut. It’s floaty, dynamic yet techy in equal measure and proof that a chunky bassline doesn’t always have to be so heavy-handed. It’s probably the funkiest track of the EP. The drums have the perfect amount of swing and ride an absolutely killer groove, eeking out of the bassline is a killer melody that rotates between oldskool rave sounds and acidic tones that twist the bassline into all kinds of shapes for the penultimate skanker of the EP.

Last up is ‘Generate’. It starts off in a steppy trance and wastes no time in initiating it’s intentions with a pumping B-Line that come’s straight out of the blocks. A moment to cool-off proceeds before Half-Cut expertly transcends the B-line into a full throttle techno pumper that’s super-charged with another sincere acid-line to close the EP with a dangerously high-octane climax.
