MADVILLA is back with some new goodies and it’s his first EP on an un-connected label since a heavy-hitter with Sidney Charles’s Heavy House Society back last year. Most of his recent focus has been heavily studio based refining his already potent sound, but EP wise, his original material has been held closely for his own Hot Wings imprint. Until now, as he’s back on the block to drop some magic with the inform Outright Recs. A no-nonsense label, that has kept things simple with a solid stream of digital EP’s from artists revolving in the up-tempo and animated verges of tech house. MADVILLA’s ‘ Buck Naked’ EP is ready to blast your craniums with four bass-tilted killer blows. He’s at the top of his game, and this EP is easily his most complete and bounciest one to date.

‘The Getdown’ (01) is a pure peak-time groover, and promises to twist the energy levels of any dance-floor up to the next degree. It’s heated and exuding in summer funk, but has the bass-heavy tenacity to fully utilise it’s stompy potency. MADVILLA maximises the energy of his drums with marching snares and sharp hats, leaving enough space in the top-end to blend them with soaring synths that pulse throughout the bassline like shards of light.

‘Prune Juice’ (02) curtails into edgier territory with a nimble heater, less peak-time focussed, but it cuts through the gears with deft agility, and works as a perfect mid-set groover. It’s powered by a winding yet tantalising bass groove that ascends and descends in equal measure, keeping a lid on the vibe, but demanding shifty energy without totally spinning out of control.

‘Buck Naked’ (03) goes one deeper into techier waters with the tuffest cut of the package. A razer sharp, mid-set weapon that diverts into the darker chambers of the club, promising to shove punters into a rapturous wormhole of trippy pleasure. On top of the twisted bass, the main fabric of the b-line revolves around some dangerously dotted synths. Interjecting like sonic cow-bell perc shots, pouncing inside a whirl-pool to seriously send this one into freaky heights.

The final track emerges from the tripped-out excursions of it’s predecessors and becomes the voyage back into the light with a final peak-time thumper. ‘Pancha’ (04) rounds off the EP with a proper plush weapon and shifts the BPM gears into maximum levels. MADVILLA injects peak energy into his drums with duel wielding hats and a devilish groove, searing with a mind-bending bass that inhales you into it’s wormhole before spitting you back out dazed and confused in the break-down. Added to the inferno, are some exploding synth-lines that expand like bursts of colour to fully amp the vibe and breathe total animation into the dance-floor.
